John Cena vs Ryback WWE's biggest feud in years?

After Mark Henry attacked Sheamus on Smackdown, the rumors surrounding a triple-treat title-match between Henry, Ryback and Cena has now been lay'd to rest. Who knows maybe Henry will find his way back to this feud in a couple of months, only time will show. But for now its all about Ryback and John Cena.

Last Monday on Raw, Ryback made a huge statement that he wants John Cena's title. After Mark Henry had lay'd out Cena with a World Strongest Slam, Ryback entered the stage and took out Henry. But after he was done with Henry, he switched his focus over to John Cena who was laying wounded in the corner. To many fans disappointment, Ryback helped Cena back on his feet. But short after (when Cena was tagging along on the "feed me more chants") Ryback hit Cena with a thunderous clothesline. This came as a shock to pretty much everyone in the arena. But the clothesline on Cena resulted with Ryback getting the biggest ovation from the fans so far in his career. Then Ryback put Cena on his shoulders and delivered a "shellshocked", and the show ended with Ryback standing tall holding the WWE-title.

This was the start of a possibly Ryback-heel turn, and it also was the start of the biggest feud within WWE the past decade. You might wander how I can call this their biggest feud so far? Here you have some reasons why:

1) They are the two top faces in the WWE
Earlier this week I mentioned that Sheamus was considered the second biggest babyface behind John Cena. But I was clearly wrong in that statement. Inside reports has told us that Vince considers Ryback the second biggest "full-time" star in the business behind John Cena. Even though Ryback has lost pretty much every important match in his career, this has been done by Vince only to give him a more "human" connection with the fans. Because when Ryback debuted with this "terminator" gimmick nobody thought he could ever be beaten, and many complained that this was bad booking by WWE. Because nobody likes to support a man who is billed as an unstoppable machine (apparently this has been the case for many years). After Ryback started his feud with The Shield, more and more people started to support him. Because he was billed as a man who fought against all odds. This was something the casual fans started to love with Ryback. In the start of his career he was billed as the unstoppable machine, now he was billed as an underdog who wouldn't back down from a fight. But Ryback kept his PPV losing streak even though he grew more and more on the fans. And then at Wrestlemania many people thought Ryback finally would get his moment (he did get it though after he "shellshocked" Henry), but once again he lost. Even though he lost, Ryback was still the last man standing after his match with Henry. The following day on Raw, Ryback officially climbed the latter to become the second-biggest star in WWE, this happend after he attack the number one star John Cena.

So now this feud consist of the two biggest babyfaces in WWE, and if Ryback goes heel during the feud, he will be considered the companies biggest heel (together with Cm Punk). This feud is officially a star-studded encounter. In one corner you have the biggest wrestling-star the past ten years (John Cena), and in the other corner you have a wrestler who has entered the main-event scene in a record breaking time.

2) Both men has so much to lose
This feud will define the future of WWE. If Ryback once again fells short, it will be hard for the WWE fans to see him as a credible treat anymore. But if John Cena loses, many fans will consider Ryback as the new top star in this business. This past couple of months Ryback has not been shy about his attention. He wants to take over Cena's role as the top star in this business. A win over Cena would be a statement of what is to come in the future.A possible feud between these two will tell indeed define the future of this business.

3) The biggest WWE feud between "full-time stars" in recent history
This last couple of years have included top feuds such as John Cena vs The Rock, Triple H vs Brock Lesnar and Cm Punk vs The Undertaker. But none of those feuds has been between two "fulltime" top-stars. A feud between John Cena and Ryback, means that we will see two "fulltime" players look horns against each other

4) WWE will gain a lot of money on this feud
A possible feud between Ryback and John Cena would make a lot of money for the WWE. Both men are fan-favorites, which means that a lot of the casuals fans would tune in to watch a match between these two. This means that the WWE will make a lot of money on a main-event including John Cena and Ryback. Who wouldn't wan't to see these two in a match?
