WWE prospects that should be pushed post-Wrestlemania!
The post-Wrestlemania (Post-Wrestlemania means time after Wrestlemania) time are known for two things. The most know factor is that superstars are continuing their feuds from Wrestlemania. Y2J and Fandango seams to continue their feud, which probably will end at Extreme Rules. The Miz and Wade Barrett will also probably end their feud at Extreme Rules. But the other most known thing about post-Wrestlemania, is the fact that WWE introduces us for new stars, while some stars usually gets a huge push towards the top of the food chain. Last year WWE introduced us to stars such as Ryback, Damion Sandow and Antonio Cesaro. While superstars such as Sheamus, Daniel Bryan and Big Show got pushed very hard. Shemaus was WHC-champ for six months, where he defeated everyone on his path. Daniel Bryan lost his title at Wrestlemania, but he was in the WHC and WWE-title picture trough Money In The Bank. Then he went on to feud with Kane, before they became partners and won the Tag-Team belts (They are still champs). Big Show turned heel, and he was billed as an unstoppable force. He went on to win the WHC title at Hell In A Cell. Unlike previous years, WWE pushed veterans after Wrestlemania 28. This year I think they should go back to old roots, and give some young prospects a huge push. Here are some stars I think should be pushed this year following Wrestlemania.
1) Dolph Ziggler
Dolph Ziggler has been a work horse for WWE the past five years. Last year he won the Money In The Bank briefcase. Many thought this was the start of a massive push for the "show off". But no, he went on to lose matches against Chris Jericho (Y2J), Randy Orton and so on. He got a couple of big wins against Randy Orton at Survivor Series, and John Cena at TLC. But on the road to Wrestlemania, he was buried by Cena, and once again he lost his ways. But this Monday Ziggler cashed in his briefcase and won the WHC-title from Alberto Del Rio. Many people (including myself) believes this is a start of a massive push for Ziggler. But now the ball is in the hand of WWE. Ziggler has proven thousand times that he belongs in the main-event scene, and now he finally has the chance to stay there for a while. He is a big fan-favorite, especially within the hardcore-internet community, but also among casual fans. The roof went of the moment Ziggler entered the stage, ready to cash in his title shot. Once again I has to point it out, WWE has a huge talent in Ziggler, now they can give him the push he should have received two years ago. I am confident that he will be a successes.
2) Antonio Cesaro
Cesaro, just like Ziggler is a working horse. He is also a business man. He does whatever the company needs him to do. Last year he won the title, and he showed us the fans that he indeed is one of the strongest men in this business, when he managed to finish of monsters like Khali and Brodus Clay with his finisher "The Neutralizer". Many thought Cesaro was billed for greatness. But just like many before him, he became a jobber for "bigger" stars such as Ryback, Cena, Del Rio and Sheamus. As a USA-champion he has lost 23 televised matches (before Wrestlemania). Compare this with the tag team champs, who has only lost 4 televised matches (Also before Wrestlemania) during their run. Yes Cesaro lacks some charisma and connection with the fans, but so did Daniel Bryan before the YES/No era began. This is a guy that truly deserves a big-time push by WWE post-Wrestlemania. He has the in ring skills, he is not that bad on the mic and he also knows how make other stars look good in the ring. A proper push would also give him more connection with crowd (both as a heel or a face). This is the guy who can make the mid-card titles relevant again, if WWE gives him a fair chance.
3) Ryback
Ryback has already been pushed big-time. He is considered as the third biggest face-superstar on the roster behind Cena and Sheamus. Just like Ziggler, Ryback received something that might be considered the start of a push this Monday on Raw. He took out Mark Henry and John Cena, and ended the show with "standing tall", holding Cena's WWE-title. The fans went absolutely crazy when Ryback attacked Cena, which many believes was not the plan for WWE. There are a lot of discussion if this was the start of a heel-turn, or if Ryback is aiming for the title. Time will show. Anyway, Ryback deserves a massive push now, which includes him winning matches at PPVs. Ryback has not won a PPV-match after he got his first "push" by the WWE. He lost all his matches against Cm Punk (And John Cena at Survivor Series). Then he went on to lose the rumble match, before himself, Cena and Sheamus lost to The Shield at Wrestlemania. He lost his biggest match so far against Mark Henry at Wrestlemania 29. This is not a stellar win/lose record for someone who is considered being the third biggest face of the WWE. Ryback has proven us that he can deliver. Now he should be put in the main-events, and he deserves a push which makes him look as strong as possible. Unlike Cesaro, Ryback has a great connection with the fans, and he has great charisma. WWE should give him the chance to prove himself in the main-events again post-Wrestlemania.
4) Cody Rhodes and Damion Sandow
Many thought these two superstars would take the tag-team division with storm. But that did not happen as they fell short to Team Hell No plenty of times. If WWE is not willing to give them a proper tag-team push, they should at least give them a proper push as single-competitors. Both men are great on the mic, has great characters and delivers in the ring. Rhodes is better in the ring, but Sandow is by far one of the best talkers in WWE right now. They are way to good to be jobbers for "Tons of funk" if you ask me. These two can potentially be main-event players. But they can help Cesaro, Barrett and Miz with making the mid-card look stronger and more valuable than it has been doing the last couple of years. They should at least give one of these great prospects a push post-Wrestlemania if you ask me.
5) Daniel Bryan
Daniel Bryan has been a top-star for a year now. Even though he is not in the main-event scene, and is still "stuck" in the mid-card scene with his tag-team partner Kane, Bryan is considered as a top star within WWE. He and Kane was brought together only to make the tag-team division relevant again. The plan worked out well. During the fall of 2012, the tag-team division had up to 10 different tag-teams, whom all wanted to win the titles from Bryan and Kane. They even had a contenders tournament, which RhodeScolars ended up winning. 8 tag-teams was involved in this tournament, which brings us to the conclusion that Bryan and Kane managed to make the tag-team scene relevant again. But now they have held the titles long enough. Both men should break up after Extreme Rules, and Bryan should go back in the WHC or WWE-title scene again. Bryan is one of the best in-ring workers in this business, and he has one of the biggest fan-bases in WWE. Make him a babyface again, and let him compete in main-event matches again. Bryan has the potential to become just as big as Cm Punk is right now. Yes John Cena is the number one star in the company, but there are not enough big-stars after him. Cm Punk struggles with injuries, Sheamus has not managed to become as big as WWE wanted him to be, and Ryback needs a push before he can be considered as a "huge star" in this business. WWE must make Bryan a singles competitor again, and they must give push as much as they did after last years Wrestlemania. He is to good to be stuck in the tag-team division. He and Kane did their job, and made the tag-team division relevant again, now let them go on with their single-careers again.
